Daniel Block

Daniel is a graduate student researcher and member of the Urban Land Use and Transportation (ULTRANS) team.

Laurel Torney

Position: 
Junior Specialist
Affiliated Organizations: 
Laurel is a Junior Specialist working on data collection and analysis as well as documentation editing and administrative tasks.

Laurel graduated from UC Davis in 2010 with a major in Environmental Policy and Planning with an emphasis in city planning and transportation. She began working with ULTRANS in 2009 as a student assistant. Laurel was promoted to Junior Specialist working with our modelers on regional modeling, and with policy staff on education and resource tools for non-modelers interested in these tools.

Nicholas (Nico) Linesch

Position: 
Graduate Student Researcher
Nico Linesch is working towards his Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Transportation Studies. He is a graduate student researcher at ULTRANS working as a member of the CalSIIM technical team.

Nico is a graduate student researcher at the Urban Land Use and Transportation Researcher (ULTRANS). He is currently working on the CalSIIM Model and the California Statewide Travel Demand Model. Nico's interests and expertise lie in transportation planning applications, database management, modeling, and network theory.

Andrew (Andy) Holguin

Position: 
Programmer
Andy Holguin works on the UPLAN Model, and is a member of the CalSIIM technical team.

Ryan Boynton

Position: 
GIS Programmer
Ryan works on the UPLAN Model, and is a member of the CalSIIM technical team.

Ryan is a GIS Programmer at the Urban Land Use and Transportation Research Center (ULTRANS). Currently, he is involved with the CSTM model and UPlan. Ryan's interests and expertise lie in urban growth and transportation modeling, restoration ecology, conservation planning, and landscape ecology.

Shengyang Sun

Position: 
Junior Specialist
Shengyang Sun is a member of the CalSIIM technical team.

Sun received a Masters degree in Transport Planning and Management from Beijing University of Technology. He was formally employed at Parsons Brinckerhoff's Beijing Office working on numerous transportation projects including an urban transport strategy and improvement plan for the city of Chengdu, the 2010 Shanghai EXPO Transport Operation Plan, and various forecasts, simulations and plans for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
